JR北海道 令和6年度事業計画について

On the 1st, JR Hokkaido officially announced its medium-term management plan for fiscal years 2024-2026. The company explained that it will invest 13.5 billion yen, six times as much as in the last three years, in development projects such as hotel and condominium construction, making it a pillar of strengthening its management base.

It also included a policy to raise fares by an average of 8% in April 2025, and set a balance target of turning the final profit, or net profit, into the black in fiscal 2025 after cutting costs and other measures.

New unmanned accommodation facility “JR Mobile Inn” opened in Kushiro and Otaru. The company is considering opening new brand hotels in tourist destinations such as Kutchan Town and Furano City.

With the Hokkaido Shinkansen connecting to Sapporo Station, scheduled for the end of 2030, Hokkaido’s real estate market will further develop. In the Niseko area, there is a huge amount of land owned by JR along the railroad tracks. We hope to revitalize the real estate business, which will preserve the natural environment and lead to the development of the town.
